ƒMRI Scanner Tests
The ƒMRI scanner tests concentrate on eloquent areas of the cortex involved with motor, sensory, receptive and productive language and memory for connected discourse (stories).
In order to produce functional data for any given individual, that individual must perform some cognitive or motor task while lying perfectly still inside the MRI scanner. Then data from their brain must be collected, in the form of images, while that person is doing something (BRAIN ACTIVATION STATE #1). Next, that individual has to perform a second task, while the scanner collects images of the brain during that task (BRAIN ACTIVATION STATE #2).
